Thanks to the specific further development of a standard commercial PDA to become a hand terminal suitable for use in animal housings with an integrated RFID module for reading animal transponders and barcode scanners for reading 2D-barcodes, we have succeeded in automatically capturing farm-specific animal data and the corresponding process data without any possibility of confusion for the first time, with automated transfer of these data into management programs of software suppliers on the PC and/or in the Internet for further processing.
